How this was made.
The workings, for the curious: what this site weighs and the standards it is held to. The table is filled in afresh at every build, so its figures are always the real ones.
- Pages
- Every page prepared ahead of time, so it arrives at once
- Type
- Archivo, Martian Mono, Permanent Marker and Silkscreen, self-hosted, 112KB of woff2 for the whole site
- Pictures
- Every photograph and screen is AVIF, made ahead of time in several sizes, so a phone never fetches a picture sized for a desktop
- Analytics
- None yet, and cookie-free when it arrives at launch
- Built
- 2026-10-13
The budgets this site is held to
Largest Contentful Paint under 1.8 seconds. Layout shift under 0.05. Total blocking time under 200 milliseconds. Under 700KB for a whole page, fonts and pictures included. Lighthouse scores of 100 for accessibility, best practices and SEO, and at least 95 for performance. Before every release, Lighthouse runs seven pages, from the homepage to a case study, three times each against those numbers on its desktop settings, and a release that misses one waits until it does not.
